I found the new Makeup Revolution Stick foundation at Ulta for $9. As soon as I saw the display at the store I knew I had to try it out. I didn’t read the type of finish, but I hate to admit that the packaging and affordable price won me over.
I have really dry skin so I have to moisturize a lot. I did my normal skin routine before applying this foundation. I applied the foundation stick all over my face and blended it with my Sonia Kashuk marble sponge.
As soon as I finished blending I applied concealer and very little Laura Mercier setting powder for under my eyes to stop some creasing. I noticed that the finish of the foundation was very dewy and had medium coverage. After I finished applying my makeup I sprayed my face with my Mac Fix Plus to finish the look. I noticed that throughout the day the foundation stayed in place and looked very dewy. In about the 7 hour wear I noticed it started to look oily in my t-zone. (EDIT: I forgot to mention it did emphasize the cracks/lines around my mouth area just a bit) If I had to compare how this product felt/looked like to me to other foundations, I would compare it to my Too Faced Peach Perfect foundation. The Too Faced Peach Perfect foundation is a liquid foundation that works great with my skin. All my pores are gone, I don’t deal with any creasing or dry patches with it on. This Makeup Revolution foundation felt similar, except it was not as long wearing, and it was more dewy than the Too Faced foundation.
I feel like this foundation is great for those who have dry skin, if you don’t like dewy foundations or if you have oily skin I would not recommend this product for you. You could wear it if you set your face with a product that you know will last all day for you. Also note: this product has 18 shades available so it will work for various skin tones. This product will definitely be an everyday foundation for me.
Let me know if you’ve tried this foundation and let me know if it’s a hit or miss for you! Makeup Revolution has been killing it lately, with the Soph X collection, their concealers and now foundation, can’t wait to see what other new products they come out with.
