The beauty community was stunned when Tarte came out with the shape tape concealer. We’ve all heard all the big YouTube beauty guru’s raving about how amazing the product is. The product provides  high coverage and is crease proof for long hours. It sounds amazing right? It is…until you go and purchase the $30 concealer. If you’re on a budget $30 is a lot of money for just one product.

For me I use concealer to cover up a little darkness under my eyes. Some people use concealer for that and also to highlight parts of their face.

I went to Ulta and I purchased the Catrice Liquid camouflage high coverage concealer, and I quickly discovered it worked EXACTLY like the Tarte shaped tape. The only problem I have with Tarte shape tape is that I find it very drying for the under eyes area. It’s a little thick for my liking but I do like to use it. I use little dots under my eyes and blend with my Maybelline sponge which I LOVE! The Catrice concealer is a lot thinner in consistency but it blends and covers like a dream. The Catrice is also a lot more hydrating than Tape shape.

If you want a cheaper alternative I would give the Catrice concealer a try. You can find it at your local Ulta for $5.99 it won’t disappoint.

UPDATE: The only con about this is that it only comes in three shades (light natural, porcelein and light beige). Unfortunately there’s not deeper shades 😦
