Is it worth it? $56 Dior Highlighter review

Let me start off by saying that I was able to purchase this with the generous gift card that my cousin Stephanie got me for my graduation. Thank you Stephanie for your generous gift.

When I was deciding what to get myself with the Nordstrom gift card I was deciding between something from DIOR or Tom Ford. I have always admired Dior’s packaging and it’s something that I have always wanted to buy, but never did because of the cost of it. I just couldn’t see myself committing to something so pricey for one item. I always thought that with $56 I can purchase at least two items at Sephora or 5 items at the drugstore. But with the gift card I decided to splurge on the Dior luminzer I had always wanted. I had previously swatched this product at Sephora so I knew I would like it.

I ordered it, and this is how it looks…

The packaging is everything.

On small swipe will get you a lot of product on your brush, so a little goes a long way. I’ve seen reviews of over priced high-end items before and I have noticed that sometimes those items can be hit and miss. This product does not need multiple swipes to get an intense highlight if that’s what you want. I personally love the more “natural within glow” so one swipe on my brush is more than enough product for me. This highlighter stays on the skin for almost the whole day and it feels very light and smooth.

I would only recommend this product if you’re going to splurge. The reason for that, is because I do think there’s other products in the market that are pretty similar to this color. The Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy collaboration highlight is pretty similar to this Dior one. The only difference is that the formula is a lot better in the Dior one. I have the Amrezy highlight and the color is very gorgeous, and the pigment is there.

Do I regret purchasing this product? No. This lux highlighter is something I have been wanting and I’m glad I purchased it, the packaging on it is incredibly detailed and very lux that it’s worth it in my opinion.

If you’ve been following my blog for the last couple of years you know that I am a drugstore girl at heart. I do purchase high-end makeup once in a while but I never really post about it. The reason for it is because I’ve been reviewing drugstore makeup for so long and I want my readers to feel like whatever I review they can go out and buy without a problem. If you like me reviewing more high-end products give this post a like or leave a comment down below. I’d love to know if you guys like me switching up my makeup reviews.
