Rainbow look using the NEW Maybelline Master Fairy Highlight

Maybelline has been releasing a lot new products, one of those products was the Master Fairy highlight. Yes, I know the whole rainbow craze has been everywhere. Wet N’ Wild and Tarte have released similar products. I couldn’t get my hands on the Wet N’ Wild rainbow highlight and I was not going to spend over $20 for a rainbow highlight I was only going to use once. When I found this highlight at the drugstore I knew I wanted to try it.

At first glance I thought the product was matte, but once swatches it has a nice shimmer.

This product comes with a mirror and a sponge. To apply, the back of this product suggests to use the sponge. I tried the sponge but I didn’t pick up any product. In my swatch you can see how it has a nice shimmer, the shades don’t look chunky or glittery.

Here’s how the highlight looks mixed in with all the colors and applied on a brush. It’s a nice frosty color.

The finished look! I switched things up and created a pretty rainbow look for Pride! The highlight you can see in my inner corners of the eye and my nose. The hearts, I purchased at Wal-Mart for 0.97 cents and the eye look was created using the Urban Decay Electric palette and the BH Cosmetics Eyes on the 60’s Palette. The liquid lipstick I’m wearing in the photo is by Kat Von “K-DUB.” For hair, I DID NOT color my hair. I purchased Beyond The Zone’s Color Bomz spray in “Livin’ In Lavender” at Sally’s Beauty Supply.

I really liked the highlight, it wasn’t chalky or over pigmented. I can’t remember the exact price but it was no more than $10. I’m glad I purchased it, it’s great for festivals or any fun occasion. My only complaint was the sponge it came with because it didn’t apply the product, I thought it was useless. I don’t apply a highlight with a sponge to begin with, but I also did like the mirror it had.
